Discovery Park District Master Planning
June 13, 2016
Representatives from PRF, Purdue University, and Browning create a vision for 450 acres at the west end of the Purdue University campus to be known as the Discovery Park District.
The Purdue Research Foundation (PRF) and Purdue University partnered with Browning Investments to develop approximately 450 acres at the west end of the Purdue University campus to build a preeminent environment for educational, economic, cultural, community and real estate development. Browning engaged Ayers Saint Gross (ASG), a master planning and architecture firm, to facilitate the planning process and create a long-term master plan that would guide the development of the area.
A steering committee comprised of representatives from PRF, Purdue University, and Browning helped to establish the overall vision for the district and guided the efforts of the design team throughout the planning process. A spectrum of stakeholders also assisted during a series of on-site workshops, meetings, and focus group sessions. Purdue students, faculty, researchers, board members, administrators, and staff provided valuable input, as did local entrepreneurs, business owners, political leaders, city planners, real estate experts, arts leaders, non-profit organizations, and residents.
