Completed in summer 2025, 3rd & West is a five-story, 325,000-square-foot student housing complex offering 984 beds in studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and four-bedroom apartment configurations.

With development partner Old Town, the district boasts apartments, townhomes, and single-family homes within the walkable, dynamic, and diverse community in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Is there an end point to creating the district? I hope not. There’s continual improvement and discovery and rediscovery. We are touting this as an innovative place and there will be changing technologies. The district will evolve, and we’ll continue to do that as well.

In spring 2024, a new phase of the master plan was set in motion with the news that the Cunningham Restaurant Group would open a new dining destination in the newly restored Beck Barn. The Lawrence is now open to the public, featuring menus crafted from scratch with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Squirrel Park is envisioned to be a place where residents and the Purdue community can enjoy time outdoors together. In conjunction with Beck Barn, the park has been enhanced with recreational areas, pedestrian pathways, agricultural spaces, and more.
